Hi! I am Jana Pindell.
I am a Integrative Holistic Health and Wellness Coach, Certified Food & Spirit Practitioner,
Board Certified Drugless Practitioner (AADP), blogger, foodie, digital scrapper, wife and mother
of three and not necessarily in that order. I love foods that are organic, local, seasonal and
prepared in a healthy, wholesome, Traditional way.
Now versus Then
When I was growing up sickness, at most, was the cold or the flu. No one I knew had allergies. People died of old age. Cancer was rare. But, as time has gone by that has all changed. I wish we only had to deal with the cold or the flu. Unfortunately, I can count on both of my hands how many people I have lost to cancer and that includes my own mother. We are no longer eating the foods our grandparents use to eat. So much of our diet is processed, the typical Standard American Diet (S.A.D.) and it is exactly that.
I remember days of being a kid, playing in the yard, getting dirty, time spent with family, days were just a little bit slower. We now live in a fast paced world; working in jobs we don't love, running our kids around to all kinds of activities, eating dinner from fast food joints, not getting regular down time and not taking a proper vacation. It is now showing up in our health and in our children's health.
What about me? And how did I get to where I am today?
I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroid Disease around 2008. The doctor handed me a prescription, a handout on Hashimoto's and I was out the door. I knew that meds was not the way for me. Oh, I tried them but it just never felt right in my body. So, I searched out alternative methods of healing. I hired a health coach and she taught me how to slow down, chew my food, eat nourishing foods for my thyroid and gut health, and look at life through a different lens. Then, I learned that she graduated and received her certification from The Institute for Integrative Nutrition® and I enrolled to further my education. I have since reversed Hashimoto's and I am on a journey to being healthy, happy and whole and living a nourished life. And, now with this knowledge and understanding I would love to support you and be your guide on the side.
